The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, Epson, and Staples Unite for Shaq-to-School Celebration
Las Vegas, NV – July 22, 2025 – The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, in collaboration with Epson and Staples, brought big dreams and even bigger smiles to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada last week. As part of the Foundation’s Shaq-to-School initiative, more than 150 kids from the James Clubhouse participated in the event — a day dedicated to inspiration, creativity, and gearing up for the new school year.
Epson set the stage by donating its latest seventh-generation EcoTank® printers, helping kids print photos and images to bring their personal vision boards to life. Several students even had the chance to present their boards to Shaquille O’Neal himself, sharing dreams of becoming athletes, fashion designers, and community leaders.
“Partnering with Shaq allows us to give back in meaningful ways – through technology, creativity and a little fun along the way,” said Mike Isgrig, vice president, consumer sales and marketing, Epson America. “Seeing the kids light up reminded us all that the future is incredibly bright.”
The excitement continued as the group headed to Staples for an action-packed shopping spree, filling backpacks with school supplies and essentials. “Watching those kids race through the aisles, picking out the supplies they need to succeed—it was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do,” said Marshall Warkentin, President, Staples U.S. Retail.
O’Neal joined in the fun, celebrating the power of education and preparation. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens, and Shaquille O’Neal and his support have been a cornerstone in bringing that mission to life,” said Andy Bischel, President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. “The kids all love the message of excitement and hope that Shaq brings, and through his partnership with Epson and the generosity of Staples, our kids are ready for the upcoming school year and hopefully the next stages in life.”
